Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts Inc. filed for Chapter 11 protection on November 21, 2004 with about $1.8 billion in debt. The reorganization included a $400 million bailout from DLJ Merchant Banking and reduced Trump's ownership stake from a range of 47-56% down to 27%. The company emerged as Trump Entertainment Resorts, which would itself file Chapter 11 in 2009.
